Educational Outings and Green Education Trips in the Julian Prealps Natural Park

At school in the Park

The Julian Prealps Natural Park promotes environmental education throughout the year, offering a program of educational activities aimed at schools of all levels. With the “A Scuola nel Parco” program, students can deepen their knowledge of the natural and historical-cultural characteristics of the regional protected area through direct experiences in nature. The objective is to inspire students’ interest and respect for the environment by offering them an unforgettable experience that will remain in their memory for many years to come.

Direct experience in nature is the most effective way to stimulate children’s interest and respect for the environment.

School in the Lodge

The Lodge offers board and lodging services to give school groups the opportunity to develop the following naturalistic and historical themes together with the Julian Prealps Natural Park and specialized guides:

  • European Green Belt (EGB) in the Julian Prealps Natural Park;
  • Word games on the “Pathway Out.”
  • Water, Energy and Musi Valley Nature Trail;
  • Orienteering in the Park;
  • The naturalist’s notebook;
  • Forest pedagogy.

In case of bad weather or when needed, the Lodge provides the dedicated room for alternative lectures or workshops.

Daily guided tours are organized by the Julian Prealps Natural Park, which is responsible for developing the required topics and coordinating the certified nature guides. The Lodge provides food service for catered lunches and possible snacks at subsidized prices.

The Lodge offers board and lodging services to all school groups wishing to stay overnight for several days to learn about and experience the Julian Prealps Natural Park. We provide quotes to schools and teachers who contact us through official channels for bilateral service arrangements, i.e., quotes for full boarding houses with possible packed lunches. All organization of guided tour services is coordinated and managed by the Park Authority. The Lodge does not provide quotes or take care of organizational details of guided tour services but merely puts applicants in touch with the specialized parties.

The agency CON TE Viaggi, with DMO Turismo Benecija, offers stays of 3 days and 2 nights for middle and high schools (junior and senior high). During the mini-week in the Torre Valleys, naturalistic and historical themes will be addressed in the special border area of the Benecja. They will discuss diurnal and nocturnal flora and fauna with nature guides, Cold War bunkers with speleological guides, and it will be possible to visit the Great War museum in Caporetto. All technical aspects are taken care of by the agency.
